Cosmetology Program at Coba Academy
Prepare for an exciting career as a licensed cosmetologist. The program is 1000 clock hours in length, which can be completed in as little as eight months of full-time attendance. At the beginning, approximately 450 hours of the program is devoted to technical instruction, which consists of various learning activities in a classroom and student salon. Students learn the fundamentals of Haircutting, Hair Color Theory, Hairstyling, Manicuring, Make-up, Skincare and Infection Control.
Once the basics of the novice curriculum are complete, students advance to core training and can start working with clients. The balance of the program time is devoted to advanced practical operations, in which students develop and practice cosmetology skills under the supervision of licensed instructors.
After completing the cosmetology program at Coba Academy, you’ll be qualified to apply for the California State Board licensing examination and become a licensed professional.

1000 Clock – Hour Program
Morning Session:
8 Months / 35 Hours per Week
-Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
Evening Session:
10 Months / 25 Hours per Week
-Monday to Friday 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Requirements for Admissions:
- At least 17 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Government Photo ID or Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card

Tuition is based on $14.50 per hour

- STRF* Fee $0 (Non-Refundable)
- Kit, Supplies, Books $1,927 (Non-Refundable)

*Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) payment to the state of California. As of April 1,2024 assessment is $0 per $1,000 of institutional charges.

your license. Coba is accredited by NACCAS, and walks their students through the entire process of applying for their
